Dead Record Labels in Nigeria After Mo’hits’ Breakup – D’Banj

d-banj
Popular Afropop singer, D’banj, has shared his perspective concerning the state of music in Nigeria through claims that music labels in the country have not been able to surpass the Mo’hits era.
D’banj, while speaking to journalists at MTV Base media hangout, mentioned that new record labels lacked the standard organisational set-up.

He said, “There is no need in deceiving ourselves. Record labels in Nigeria died after Mo’hits and that’s the truth. There are no record labels anymore.”

“Any artiste that can buy a laptop, produce a song with it, get his uncle to pay for video would say he has a record label. That is not a record label.”

Now the owner of a record label named DB Records, D’banj lamented that many existing record labels cannot match the performance of Mo’hits during their days.

The singer left Mo’hits some years back after an alleged misunderstanding between him and music producer, Don Jazzy.

This however did not have any dwindling effect on his career. Rather, it opened him to more recognition outside the shores of Africa.

It was gathered that the suspect, who lived with his parents in the landlady’s residence at Tudun-Fulani, in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory, reported himself to the police after committing the crime.
According to PUNCH Metro, Sunday locked the deceased in their apartment after they had slept in the night, sprayed the house with petrol and set it ablaze afterwards.
It was said that Sunday watched as the fire raged on and when he was sure that the victims were trapped, he headed for the Bwari Police Division.
The inferno reportedly lasted for hours before residents were able to put it out.
Charred remains of the five victims were eventually removed from the razed apartment and deposited in a morgue by the police.

“I was told that he and the landlady’s daughter were dating each other until recently when their relationship turned sour. He had been transferred to another division for further investigation.”
The Police Public Relations Officer in Abuja, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, confirmed the incident to PUNCH Metro, saying that the commissioner of police, FCT, had directed that the suspect be transferred to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

I Impregnated My Wife Before Taking Her to Church- Dele Odule

image.aspxNollywood actor, Dele Odule (TAMPAN), recently poured encomium on his wife for being able to love him and manage the home for 20 years.

According to the actor, it has not been rosy in the marriage especially with the fact that he is an actor and his wife a legal practitioner but they have grown to love and understand each other with time and they have been able to build a good home.

The actor pointed out that credit should be given to God because he is the sustainer of the home but the woman is the only person who can actually make that home stand or fail.

In his words, “God sustains marriage. But the only person that actually makes it sustainable is the woman. So, she has done excellently well in that regard. She has done so much to make sure that the marriage is still intact.

“Because if she has to go by the way an actor would have lived, ah! (laughter). We are from different school of thoughts. I am from the acting, she is a legal practitioner. So, you can see that we are not from the same field.”

While praising his wife, he also recalled how he had met her when she just left secondary school in 1988 and got her pregnant in 1991 but later lost the child.

“I met my wife in 1988, we had our first child in 1991, though he’s late now. The boy is late now. We got married officially 20 years ago. We got our first child before we actually went to the altar. I met her when she was just a young girl. She just left secondary school then,” he told Yes magazine.
