Actress Adesua Etomi visits Governor Obaseki

Award-winning Nollywood star, Adesua Etomi on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, at the Government House in Benin City.

The actress, who hails from Edo State, commended the Obaseki-led administration for the giant strides it has made in empowering women and caring for the less-privileged in the society as well as providing critical infrastructure and enthroning law and order in the state.

The multi-talented star said her visit was to show her solidarity for governor Obaseki and his team that are gradually transforming the state without making noise about it.

No Nigerian prophet or pastor is qualified to receive your tithes - Daddy Freeze tells Nigerians

Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze has yet again dropped another bombshell by saying no Nigerian prophet or pastor or GO are qualified to receive tithes from their congregation.
According to the controversial OAP, Tithes were only meant for the Levites, who were descendants of Levi son of Jacob and Leah no one else! These Levites are still around in Israel today.
He wrote on Instagram:

Levites were not allowed to own anything not houses not land or cars and DEFINITELY NOT PRIVATE JETS!

The tithes were only paid once every 3 years in the year of the tithe Deut 14:27; NOT EVERY MONTH!

Only 10% of the tithe was meant for the temple Nehemiah 10:38 the rest was meant for the sick, homeless, strangers, widows and orphans NOT PASTORS!

Tithe was never money, IT WAS FOODSTUFF!

Tithe was meant to be eaten with our families in the house of God.

It is biblical to sell your tithe and buy beer and drink in the house of God. Deut 14:26

Then feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and celebrate with your household. [27] And do not neglect the Levites in your town, for they will receive no allotment of land among you.

Yesterday, Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, 23, was involved in a car crash while heading home from training.
The France midfielder who suffered no serious injury was driving his £150,000 Mercedes G63 AMG SUV when the crash happened just five minutes from Chelsea's training complex in Surrey at 4.40pm. Police were called to the scene in Blundel Lane.
His brother, Namory, had previously raised concerns over the Chelsea star driving in England, claiming that he doesn't like driving on the left side of the road.
'Tiemoue told me he wasn't allowing himself to drive because he thinks it's too crazy driving on the left! But he'll get round to it,' he said.
In a statement, Surrey Police confirmed the incident. 'Surrey Police attended Blundel Lane in Oxshot around 4.40pm following a one-vehicle collision,' a spokesperson said.

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha and his wife, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha have been married for almost 30 years and together they have six children.

Narrating how he met his wife, Rochas Okorocha told LIB that, 'i was quite young, about 24 years old then. My father fell sick and one day he told me he wants me to get married that he wants to see my wife before he dies and he was quite young then. That was how I began the search for a wife'. 

He continued to say, 'one morning I was driving and I saw a young lady packing tomatoes by the side of the road and I said to my friend, 'this is my wife'. So we stopped and asked if we could help her and she said no and my friends laughed at me so we left but somehow I believed I have seen my wife. The next day I was passing in a bus and I saw the same young lady at the same spot with her sisters though I didn't stop to talk to her that day but anytime I see her its always like stars shine through my eyes like I've seen something that's not normal'.

'Eventually, we met by accident at an event and that's how we got talking. Our courtship didn't even last for one week before we got married, I' sure it's one of the fastest marriages ever and today I can say meeting my wife, the first lady is the best thing that ever happened to me in life, believe me and I say it anywhere in the world to whoever cares to know. I'm blessed with the best family you can think of. I have the best marriage on earth. My wife doesn't believe in gold and all these jewelries that women wear because our life is a life of service' he said.

'Quote me anywhere, Igbos play the worst politics in Nigeria' – Gov. Rochas Okorocha says

Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, says Igbos play the worst politics among the ethnic and geopolitical zones in Nigeria. Okorocha said this at an interactive session with some top media practitioners in Owerri, the state capital yesterday September 19th.

“Igbo have to change their strategy, in order to reclaim their relevance in Nigeria’s power equation. Quote me anywhere, Igbo play the worst politics in Nigeria. Today, Hausa have realised they can win an election without Igbo. Hitherto, Hausa used to think they could not win elections without Igbo.Now, they believe with the combined massive populations of Lagos and Kano, they no longer need Igbo to win, hence, the latest alliance between Hausa and Yoruba. So, where is Igbo today in Nigerian politics?” he asked rhetorically.

Governor Rochas also spoke on the agitation for the creation of Biafra by IPOB members. According to him, the approach used by the group is childish. He said if Nigeria were to break up today, it is the Igbos that would be at a loss.

“I’ve always said Igbo have this feeling of abandonment. IPOB would have made better impact if they had operated under any other name other than Biafra, to push their demand for equity in sharing of the nation’s political and economic resources. The call for secession was childish. IPOB should have fought their struggle like the Niger Delta youths, Arewa youths and Yoruba group. Who is Nnamdi Kanu to ask Rochas to follow him to war? Check it out,  no Hausa man living in the South East owns a duplex neither can you see a Yoruba man who lives in a room and parlour apartment of his own or an investment worth N20 million. But, should Nigeria break up today, Igbo will lose trillions in properties and other investments in Lagos, the North and other parts of the country. This is why we all must condemn IPOB’s call for break up.”

Speaking further, he said

"The South South has produced a president, the South West has produced a president and vice president while the North has produced many presidents. By political calculation, it was expected that very soon, Igbo would have a chance to produce the president, but, the same Igbo want to break away from Nigeria. Where is our wisdom. Regrettably, IPOB  activities has created fears in the minds of Hausa and other ethnic nationalities in the country, that, once Igbo becomes president, they would secede. So, where are we? This is why I said IPOB were childish in their struggle. We should all condemn the call for secession because if Nigeria breaks up, Igbo will lose. Igbo need to change their strategy and political calculation, to remain relevant in Nigerian politics,”.

Student, 22, who falsely accused a taxi driver of rape is jailed for 16 months

A criminology student has been jailed for falsely accusing a taxi driver of raping her after he refused to accept a £10 note covered in kebab oil.
Sophie Pointon, 22, called police in the early hours of April 22, this year and told officers she had been molested in the back of the cab she had been picked up in after a night out. She went on to sign a statement giving an account of the attack, in Leeds, West Yorks, England.

Following the accusation, the driver, a father-of-five, was tracked down and kept in custody for six hours, Leeds Crown Court heard. He was also unable to work for four weeks as a result of the claim. The driver described in a statement how the false allegation had caused him to suffer from stress.
Kate Bisset, prosecuting, said the driver was interviewed and said he could recall Pointon being "extremely drunk" when she got into his car holding a kebab. He said Pointon threw a £10 note at him when they reached the Hyde Park area but he refused to accept it as it was covered in oil from the kebab. The driver said Pointon then became abusive and ran around the car opening doors.
The prosecutor said: "He did not think much of it at the time because such incident with people who are intoxicated are not unusual."
A recording of a conversation between the driver and a phone operator at his taxi office supported his account. The court heard a GPS tracker fitted to the car also revealed Pointon's description of the taxi journey to be untrue.
When Pointon's account of the incident was challenged by police, she broke down in tears and asked if she could drop the charges. She pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was jailed for 16 months.

Denise Breen-Lawton, mitigating, said Pointon, of Manchester, had been studying in Leeds at the time. She said her hopes of becoming a police officer were now ruined.

Judge Christopher Batty told her: "Your malicious complaint has done a huge disservice to those seeking justice through the police and courts."

Sad! Kenyan actress dies during childbirth due to health workers strike, baby dies few minutes later

A popular Kenyan actress, Maureen Wanza died due to complications from childbirth at the Kilifi County, Kenya on Tuesday, September 19th as public health workers in the country continue to strike.

Maureen Wanza who is most popular for her role as Sasha from the hit local show 'Sumi' that airs on Citizen TV, bled to death while giving birth and unfortunately, she also lost her child. 

According to Ashiners Film CEO, Ann Hamburg, Mrs Wanza was rushed to the hospital after developing complications but sadly didn't make it

"It was an emergency. While at the facility, her situation worsened as she gave birth. She bled to death. Unfortunately, her baby also died minutes later,"  Ann Hamburg said.
