Jealous boyfriend slits his girlfriend’s throat at Adamawa state polytechnic

A jealous boyfriend has slit the throat of his female lover following an argument in Adamawa state. The victim was left with horrible wounds on her face and body.
According to HOOKUPTV Blog, the lady was identified as Witness and a student of Adamawa state Polytechnic, Yola campus.
She was quickly rushed to the specialist hospital Yola by her fellow female students of the State Poly after the incident.

“This lady was rushed to the specialist hospital Yola last night by students of the female hostel of the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola Campus with her throat slit and knife wounds over her face and body.
“This sad event took place yesterday 9th November at the Adamawa State Polytechnic Yola Main Campus in the evening hours.The lady who has been identified as Witness by name was said to have been dating a young man who was a student of the same institution (State Polytechnic Yola Campus) but returned to rewrite a pending carry over course.

“On the fateful day, eye witnesses say he called her several but to no avail as she did not pick or return her calls thus enraging her estranged lover. The lady was seen to alight from another man’s vehicle with polythene bag containing bread and some raw eggs. upon sighting her, her enraged lover ensues into a heated argument with her regarding her whereabouts. passers by who knew them prior to that time knew it was common place for them to have such verbal exchange thus ignored the two lovers to carry on their arguments.
“Things took a turn for the worse how ever when the man pulled out a knife and slit her throat as though slaughtering and animal. her screams for help thus attracted male folk around the area to fight him off but he had inflicted much wounds both on her throat and face. he quickly ran to the school gate threatening to stab the security man if the gate was not opened for him
“The lady was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. She is currently under stable condition and the lover has been apprehended and arrested.”

Soyinka risks jail term if he destroys his green card – Lawyer

An Abuja based lawyer Kayode Ajulo, has cautioned Nigerian Nobel Literature Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, against carrying his threat to destroy his American green card in protest of Donald Trump’s victory at the US presidential election.
Ajuko, reacting to threats made by Soyinka to destroy his American citizen’s card, warned that the Nobel Literature Laureate could run into trouble with the American law if he does so.
The lawyer told Vanguard in an interview on Thursday, November 10, that under the American law losing or having your US green card destroyed can be a serious problem. He said legally such is tagged as wishful destruction of government’s property.

Ajulo urged Soyinka to rescind his threat to destroy his resident permit, noting that he is far better and far bigger than that because such act is provocative and unacceptable.

He described Soyinka as a good ambassador who cares not just about Nigeria but the world at large, advising him to keep to it.
Recall that literary icon pledged to keep a promise he had given a few days before the Nov. 8 election, when he told students at Oxford University that he will cut his green card and start packing up if Trump won the polls. Soyinka also said he will leave the United States by Jan. 20, 2017, the day president-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated. The green card is the U.S. permanent residence permit.

Meanwhile, following the widespread condemnation that trailed the prophesy by influential Nigerian TV evangelist, TB Joshua that Hillary Clinton would win the US presidential election which later turned out otherwise, the cleric has reinstated the post on his Facebook page after deleting on Wednesday, November 9. Prophet TB Joshua during his church sermon on Sunday, November 6, had predicted a narrow victory for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party presidential candidate.

The prediction was also posted on the Facebook page of TB Joshua ministries. But after Donald Trump convincingly won US presidential election, visitors to the preacher’s Facebook page on Wednesday, November 9, noticed the prophecy had been deleted from TB Joshua Ministries Facebook page.

Governor Oshiomhole hands over to Obaseki

– Adams Oshiomhole will step down as acting governor of Edo state today, November 11
– The APC governor elect of Edo state, Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, will be sworn in on Saturday, November12, at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin

– President Muhammadu Buhari has suggested that the APC will find another appointment for the outgoing governor of Edo state

The outgoing governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, will today hand over power to governor-elect Godwin Obaseki.
Though, the handover will be taking place today, November 11, Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, will be sworn in on Saturday, November 12, at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital, by the Chief Judge (CJ), Justice Cromwell Idahosa, The Nation reports.

At the inauguration of the Edo University at Iyamho, Oshiomhole said he would hand over today.
The outgoing governor said God had answered his prayers to finish well and strong.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has suggested that the APC might find another appointment for the outgoing governor of Edo state. Buhari, during his during his two-day working visit to Benin City on November 7, Monday said would result to wasting Oshiomole’s energy if he was allowed to leave politics shortly after his tenure as a state governor.

Similarly, a chieftain of the APC in Delta state has recommended the outgoing of Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to replace the party’s national chairman, John Odigie- Oyegun.
Chief Ovie Onoriode, according to Vanguard said Oshiomhole’s leadership will help the party emerge stronger from its current internal crises.

‘Russia is ready to restore relations with U.S’- Putin says as he ‘reaches out’ to Donald Trump

Now that Donald Trump has won the U.S. presidential election, Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated him saying he hopes there’ll be a fresh start in U.S.-Russia relations.
In a telegram, the Russian leader said he was confident he and Trump could start “a constructive dialogue based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and genuine consideration for each other’s positions.”

He also hoped that Trump would help resolve “the current crisis” in U.S.-Russian relations.
Trump during his election campaign has been a vocal admirer of Putin, saying the world will be a better place if Russia and America got along, even saying he could visit the Russian leader during his first 100 days in office.

“(Trump) spoke about resuming and restoring relations with Russia. We understand the way to that will be difficult, taking into account the current state of degradation of relations between the US and Russia,” Putin told Russian state television.

“As I have repeatedly said, that is not our fault that Russia-US relations are in that state. Russia is ready and wants to restore the fully fledged relations with the US. I repeat we understand this will be difficult, but we are ready to play our part in it.”

According to multiple reports, Russia watched the U.S elections closely, they even had a 24 hour election watch on State TV and even had actors play out the roles of Trump and Clinton on election day.
