Actress, Gloria Anozie-Young is still in shock over the circumstances that led to former AGN president, Ibinabo Fiberesima, being sent to prison again.
Gloria who ruled the screen in the 90s said, she’s been having nightmares about Ibinabo’s stay in jail after she was recently sentenced to five years imprisonment for manslaughter after an appeal court dismissed her appeal and affirmed the High Court’s judgement on her conviction.
Ibinabo was convicted for the death of a Lagos-based medical doctor, Dr Giwa Suraj, whom she killed in an car accident along Lekki–Epe expressway, Lagos, 10 years ago.
Taking to her Facebook page, Gloria poured her heart out writing:
“I haven’t slept well in days…I’ve been having nightmares about Ibinabo Fiberesima being in prison. I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. I’ve read the way some people have lambasted her for having an accident. She’s an entertainer, like me, whose work is to make people happy. She had an accident! I can’t sleep because I see victimisation, I see vendetta and I fear.”
Recall last week, Ibinabo was stripped of her title as AGN president, by a court. The position was handed over to actor Emeka Ike who has been batting the actress for the position since she won the election several years ago.
