GATEWAY MORTGAGE BANK DISBURSES N160M HOUSING LOAN TO WORKERS

Civil servants in the state, who bought into the Laderin Housing Estate, can now jump up for joy as the State-owned Gateway Mortgage Bank has finalized arrangements to start disbursing the N160 million facility recently secured from the National Housing Fund to them.

The bank’s Managing Director, Mr. OlawaleOsisanya, who disclosed this to Ogun Update during a chat in Abeokuta, pointed out that the feat was achieved following Governor IbikunleAmosun’s approval for the injection of the sum of N2.5 billion into the bank in December 2013, adding that some private individuals, who applied for the loan, would also benefit.

We  are proud to have the recognition and support of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria at this point in time, as this will enable us to significantly expand our sales and marketing efforts on NHF loans as well as other mortgage products. We are indeed grateful to Governor Amosun, whose approval for the injection of N2.5 billion in 2013, made it possible for us to obtain our current status as a state mortgage bank, Osisanya stated.

He described the development as a phenomenon that has significantly expanded the bank’s sale s and marketing efforts as well as accelerate its product roadmap.

According to him, the bank is expanding its operations by opening additional branches in Mowe/Ibafo, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu and Ago Iwoye as a short term plan, just as it intends to upgrade its status into a national mortgage bank and its long term plan.

On other activities of the bank, Osisanya disclosed that it is working in collaboration with the Ogun Sate Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), to develop houses that would not cost more than N5 million to cater for low income earners, revealing that similar arrangement is on-going with the State Housing Corporation to provide houses for interested middle staff of corporate organizations.
