The Ambassador for Peace contest is an annual pageant to promote, crusade, educate and advocate for peace in the crisis region of Africa.

Actress and producer, Bose Oladimeji certainly knows her onions when it
comes to her craft and she has proven this over time. With five movies
to her name as a producer, the indigene of Kwara State shows no
intention of slowing down anytime soon. In this interview she bares her
mind on acting, love and life.
How did you discover yourself as an actress?
While I was in school we read a lot of Shakespearian books and at a
point we had to go on stage to present what we read to an audience. I
discovered my love for acting that way.
How did your parents react when you told them you wanted to act?
My parents didn’t have anything negative to say about it, they believe
in whatever their children want, so far it is good.
Growing up, what was your ambition?
Right from childhood I knew I wanted to be a superstar actress. As a
child, I was always involved in acting with my peers; in fact I was
always the leader.
Can you recall your first experience on set?
I was very nervous and happy at the same time; it is an experience I can
never forget.
What were the challenges you faced during your early years of acting?
Jealousy was the greatest challenge I faced when I came into the
industry. When I joined my group, I met a lot of people that felt I met
them in the industry and shouldn’t be given the opportunity to act
before them.
What movie do you consider your breakthrough?
That has to be ‘Aye Mi’(My Life) which I produced, I acted alongside
Bimbo Akintola, Muyiwa Ademola, Aina Gold, Doris Simeon, Sade Olona and
others.
So far how has your acting journey been?
The journey has not been very interesting so far. People call me for
jobs and refuse to pay at the end of the day, which is very unfair, how
am I supposed to grow or survive? We need to correct the notion of using
people, we should get paid for jobs that we do, no matter how small it
is. I once worked on a friend’s production; I played the sub lead in the
movie and at the end of the production she started praying and
preaching to me without paying me. It was a sad experience; I cried so
much because I didn’t have a car at the time and had no money to board a
bus home. Some people in the industry believe they are doing you a
favor by giving you scripts. I don’t know if it is the same in the
English sector but in the Yoruba sector it is ‘Rub my back while I rub
yours’ and this hinders progress.
Have you ever considered acting in an English movie?
Yes I have, I’m currently shooting an English movie ‘This Is My Story’
by Film One Production.
What are the things you look out for before accepting a script?
I look out for the character, people I will be acting with, the location
and of course the ‘pay’ (money) which is very important
Do you have any regret as an actress?
The only thing, although I won’t totally consider it regret is that my
friends believe that I’m rich. They believe I have so much money because
I’m an actress and this is not true because I work sometimes and don’t
get paid.
What project are you working on?
I’m working on ‘Ika’(wickedness) presently, we are done with the
shooting and it will be released soon.
What are the things you find challenging when producing a movie?
The first challenge is finance. As a producer if you do not have enough
money you can’t shoot a good movie. Second, when people see you as an
upcoming actress they will not want to identify with you, they believe
you are just starting and won’t pay attention to you. Lastly, location
is a challenge; you might have a location in mind but will be unable to
get it. I think it will be better if the government can provide us with a
film village, a place where we can go to shoot movies.
Asides acting and producing, what else do you do?
I’m an Entrepreneur; I run a tailoring materials and jewelry store.
How do you relax when you are not working?
When I’m not working I like to stay indoors, watch Tv, eat and sleep. I
also go to my stores to see to the progress of my business.
Are you in a relationship?
I’m not in a relationship for now; I’m available and waiting for the
right man to come.
Who is your ideal man?
A God-fearing and caring man that will love me sincerely because I’m
ready to love. I don’t want a man that will lie to me, I want a man that
will pamper me, I’m a Leo and I love to be cared for.
Do you think sex before marriage is right?
Yes, I think sex before marriage is right in order to know how sexually
active one’s partner is.
What if the man becomes non active after marriage, what will you do?
As long as he was active before we got married there would definitely be
a solution.
Do you have a child?
No I don’t, I’m praying to God to get married and then have a child.
With the baby mama trend in the industry, can you have a child out of
wedlock?
No I can’t, I don’t welcome that idea.
What is your philosophy of life?
Life is simple, if one is rigid about life he will not succeed. I accept
things the way they come.
