Photos: Kenyan student stabbed by her ex-boyfriend after she ended their relationship
Ms Chepkemboi says she left her boyfriend in December last year because he was “irresponsible”. The two have a 4-month old daughter together.
Speaking from her hospital bed in Kilifi County, Naomi Chepkemboi said Mr Kipkoech showed up at her rented room in Kilifi early Sunday, when he meted out the ugly attack on her.
“He came to my room at 6am, and knocked on my door. I peeped through the window, and saw him. I went back to bed because I did not want to open the door for him. He pleaded with me to open the door, saying he came with an aim of restoring peace between us,” Chepkemboi told Citizen Television on Monday.
“After much deliberation, I let him in. When we were done talking to each other, he rose and started walking out. I, thereafter, changed into my sleeping gown; and was in the process of locking the door, when he stormed in and locked the door from the inside,” said Chepkemboi.
Mr Kipkoech, thereafter, brandished three knives he had hidden in a paper bag and stabbed his victim in the chest and neck several times.
Doctors at Kilifi Hospital say Naomi Chepkemboi, who was taken to the facility by fellow students, is in a stable condition.
The victim recounts ending her 2-year relationship with the suspect in December last year.
“When I told him that I have moved on, he couldn’t believe it. I terminated my relationship with him because he wasn’t a responsible man. His parents helped me and the baby for only two months. After much thought, I saw it unwise to stick with him yet he wasn’t looking after his child. He was the type of a man who would forcefully take my money, when he found me in possession of some cash,” said Ms Chepkemboi.
A Kilifi court on Monday, April 15 granted the police eight days to detain Henry Kipkoech.
The suspect will undergo mental tests to ascertain his fitness to stand trial.
Mr Kipkoech told the court that he attacked his victim after she denied him access to their daughter.

'I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could and I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. I will never, never push myself that far again. I feel like I’m just a new woman in a new chapter of my life and I’m not even trying to be who I was. It’s just so beautiful that children do that to you.'

Michelle wrote:
Great work @beyonce! So proud of you!! Was blessed to personally witness the amount of work you put into this along with your team that you trusted to help execute your vision. You always say “if I dreamed it that means I can do it” OR “don’t tell me something can’t be done, I had a vision so make it happen!” Let this be a message of when God gives you something to do, trust that He’s given you everything you need to make it happen.

Terry Crews shows off his impressive massive muscles as he covers Men's Health magazine (Photos)
The 50-year-old athlete-turned-actor showed off his impressive muscles for the May issue and admitted to Men's Health that he nearly lost his wife and children as he spiraled into a 'cult of toxic masculinity' in 2010.
According to him, his wife Rebecca told him she had enough of his ways and was taking their five children and leaving him because of his 'self-destructing' habits.
'I was like, "Wait a minute. I’m successful. I’ve got this and this. I’m living the dream,"' Crews recalled. 'And she was like, "You can have this dream. I’d rather be broke. I’d rather be by myself."'
'I said, "All right, leave. I’ll go get four more girls. I’ll be fine. Everybody thinks I’m great."' This is how men work,' he said. 'We roll in a circle, and that camaraderie doesn’t allow for introspection.'

Nestle sponsors Activate Success Int'l Foundation Grants to 'YEEP' Beneficiaries
Photo caption- Founder Activate Success International
Foundation (ASIF), Ms. Love Idoko; Executive Director, YIAGA Africa, Mr.
Samson Itodo and Representative of Nestle, Ms. Liola Kienka at the
Nestle Sponsored Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment programme (YEEP)
put together by ASIF.
Popular multinational company, Nestle has sponsored the
presentation of start-up grants to the beneficiaries of the 2019 edition
of Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Programme (YEEP). Put
together by Activate Success International Foundation (ASIF), the
beneficiaries of the programme were drawn from Kano, Benue, Kogi, Abuja,
Niger, Delta and Plateau states respectively out of over 100 business
proposals received from about 1000 youths who recently participated in
the empowerment programme.
TV Host and Founder of ASIF, Ms. Love Idoko said that YEEP
was aimed at helping and encouraging young people to maximise their
potentials. The beneficiaries, who were given their cheques at a brief
event included those who were into fish farming, arts and craft, food
processing, fashion, Information Technology and skin care products. “The
programme is held once every year; where youths register from all over
Nigeria. We have people coming from all the states of the federation to
attend this event and then we bring in young CEOs that have made
remarkable achievements in different fields to speak to them and share
their success stories”.
Idoko said while there were talents everywhere, the
difference is how individuals utilise their talents. “The youths can
influence growth in a nation’s economy in many ways because a lot of
young people are talented; they are gifted; they have amazing ideas but
they lack the support to maximise their potentials; they lack the
support to implement what they have; to translate their mental picture
into actual pictures. Every problem is an opportunity to make money. I
advise all of you not to give up because your story is about to change”.
While appreciating NESTLE Nigeria for sponsoring the
Grants, she added that between May 2018 and now, the foundation had
empowered over 60 youths. “What we do is to identify young people with
fantastic business ideas. A panel goes through these ideas; selects
those with the best ideas and then we give them startup funds to help
them achieve their dreams. We have a team that monitors the
beneficiaries. We have success stories of people who we have supported
and today, they are doing amazingly well in different fields. We receive
reports from them quarterly. We are proud and happy to say that this
programme has really inspired and helped a lot of young people. We are
looking forward to amazing testimonies from you (the beneficiaries).
Success is intentional, so whatever you go through, please don’t give
up,” she admonished the recipients”.

Update: Jealous man who killed pregnant stepdaughter to get back at his wife, arrested after failed attempt to commit suicide (photos)
Phumjai Leungthong, who allegedly tried to commit suicide on April 13 in a wooded area near the Bus Route 122 garage in Bang Kapi district by taking poison, was rescued in time.
He reportedly told police he killed the 29-year-old Nanchaya Chanthamokha, whom his wife loved the most, out of anger and jealousy when his wife abandoned him and went to Amnat Charoen province.
“I feel remorse for what I did. I was so angry because I love her mother so much and I forgot that the stepdaughter was pregnant. I believe nothing I say would change the minds of the victim’s relatives so I want to apologise for what I did. I want the court to give me a death sentence. If one life can trade two lives, I will accept that,” he said.
Following his arrest, Phumjai reportedly confessed that he had fatally hit the young woman on the head and the torso with a hammer until the hammer head dislodged.
Phumjai was charged with murder by using torture or acts of cruelty under the Criminal Code’s Section 289, which is punishable with a death penalty.
Phumjai did a “wai” in apology to the deceased victim’s husband, Thanawat Kaewkhamsorn, 29, who was among the crowd at the police station.
“Why did you kill her?”, he shouted and tried to punch Phumjai through the cell bars.
After the crowd dispersed, police took Phumjai out of the detention cell to perform the crime simulation at 1.30pm behind closed doors after which the suspect told reporters about his wish to get the death sentence.
Phumjai, who is on a close watch for suicide, will be brought to the Min Buri Court on April 15 to apply for the first 12-day detention period.
Sing said police had clinching evidence against the alleged murder suspect – with or without the man’s confession – to prosecute him so the victim’s relatives should rest assure that justice would be done.
