A man has been stabbed in the head outside a McDonald's restaurant in Bromley, South London.
Terrified witnessed described 'blood everywhere' following the attack this morning.
The stabbing took place in front of children and families on a busy high street.
Brave have-a-go heroes stopped the suspected attacker fleeing the scene.
Shocking videos taken in the aftermath of the attack show crowds of horrified shoppers tending to the stunned victim.
One witness, who asked not to be named, told the Mirror Online: "It was completely manic.
“I was opposite McDonald’s waiting to go in when there was this sudden rush of people.
“I could hear a woman screaming at the top of her lungs.
“I carried on walking over, then I could see blood.
"It was on the pavement, and all over the woman, it was everywhere and I could hear more screaming.
“I stepped back. Then there was another rush of people who stepped in to help - some of them stopped the person getting away.
“The man who had been stabbed seemed quite calm - or at least he wasn’t saying anything.
“The woman, I’m not sure if she was his partner, was crying and walking up and down the street.
“Then she sat down next to him.
“I was terrible - there were lots of kids around - it’s a family area.
“Its awful because I live nearby and I did not expect this to happen at all."
In the video the victim, thought to be in his 40s, sits on the pavement as paramedics bandage his head.
He was rushed to hospital as a priority but his condition is unknown at this stage.
Meanwhile a suspect lies handcuffed on the ground, surrounded by police.
He is currently in custody at a south London police station.
Passerby Laura Godderham, 18, told News Shopper: "I just came out of the shopping centre and was walking along, heard loads of police sirens.
"The road was shut off and a police officer was holding a man on the ground.
"You could see blood on the pavement.
"Ambulances and police vans everywhere it was crazy."
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man had been arrested following the incident which happened at 11.20am.
