Queens man arrested for groping infant girl’s buttocks as she was being breastfed by her mother in a subway

Police in New York City has arrested and charged a man with multiple crimes after he inappropriately touched a 10-month-old girl during a subway commute.
The man identified as Antonio Guarchaj, 42, grabbed the infant girl’s buttocks as she was being breastfed by her mother.
According to the authorities, Guarchaj approached a 39-year-old woman and her 10-month-old daughter on a Manhattan-bound 7 train on Saturday afternoon.  He decided to sit next to the mother as she breast-fed her baby.
Initial contact between the three was brief, according to New York City News, with Guarchaj touching the baby’s feet. He then walked away. But for some reason, he decided to return.
During the second contact, Guarchaj first asked the child’s name. Then, according to the police, Guarchaj proceeded to reach under the little girls’ skirt and squeeze her bottom.
Guarchaj was arrested at the 52 St.-Roosevelt Ave. stop, charged with forcible touching, sex abuse, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Appearing before a court on Sunday, Guarchaj was held in place of $1,000 bail. According to his arrest records, he has four prior arrests, but none of them involve sexual abuse.
Guarchaj is next scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11,
