Missing Jasmine Macquaker: Police find body in search for missing schoolgirl last seen at train station

Police confirmed the tragic discovery after Jasmine, 14, was reported missing last night

Tragic: Police are currently treating the death of Jasmine Macquaker as unexplained
Police searching for a missing 14-year-old schoolgirl have found a body.
Jasmine Macquaker was spotted at Edinburgh's Waverley train station at 8.15pm last night.
She was last seen at Dalmeny Railway Station in South Queensferry at around 8.30pm, Police Scotland said.
A missing persons investigation was launched but police tragically confirmed a body was found at 7am this morning.
Police said Jasmine's family have been informed, reports the Daily Record.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A police statement said: "A formal identification is yet to be carried out; however, Jasmine's family have been informed and have requested that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time."
Officers had said her disappearance was "out of character" and appealed for anyone who saw Jasmine on the train or at any time after 5pm on Sunday to get in touch with officers.

Before the discovery, Inspector Nick Young said: "It's out of character for Jasmine to go off on her own without telling anyone and we want to find her as quickly as possible.
"An extensive search effort is now under way involving specialist teams and partner agencies. We are also liaising with Jasmine's family and offering them any support we can. "
Jasmine was described as approximately 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build with long dark straight hair that is shoulder length.
She was wearing a waist length turquoise Rab branded jacket, dark grey jeans and grey plimsolls which have a flower pattern.
